Iran captures 15 British sailors in Iraqi waters...Where is the public outcry from the "World Community"? There isn't an outcry. No one outside of the U.S. or Britain cares. However, if we or the Brits had captured 15 Iranians, you would have U.N. meetings, Congressional investigations, and a demand from the Red Cross to approve of the conditions the detainees are being held in. Sorry, can't forget about P.E.T.A. condemning us for feeding them meat. What the hell! Where is Sean Penn and all his outrage? Tim Robbins? Michael Moore? Hillary Clinton? They are no where to be seen in regards to this issue.
There are some standing up and showing their outrage. They are the men and women of the U.S. and British Military. Currently they are conducting joint war scenarios very, very close to Iranian waters. This is the biggest Naval build up since the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It looks as if we are sending the Iranians a clear message. Tony Blair stated that Iran needs to release the 15 detainees or this will move up to the next level. Hmmmm, what could the next level be?
Iran is playing a very dangerous game. A game they will lose. They need to look at a map. They are currently surrounded by Allied Troops to there east and west. At sea, they are gazing at a very large and impressive fleet. I heard one commentator call this a game of chess...I believe that it is Iran's move and they are in check.

What the hell Caps fans!
I had the pleasure of attending the Maple Leaf vs. Capitals this past Friday. The Caps played great. If you don't know, the score was 5-1. But my enjoyment ended there.
First, the place was half empty. Yes, the Caps have been putrid lately, but damn. Support your team.
Second, 75% of the fans that were there were Leafs fans. As one "gentleman" stated, "They are everywhere...Their pasty white skin...It's disgusting." He went on to say more, but that does not need to be repeated. Several Leafs fans attempted to start a fight with me while I was attempting to take a piss. The focus of their rage was my Hunter Jersey. Imagine that. You go to D.C. and see a Hunter jersey. How dare a Caps fan!
Third, most of the food stands were closed. Now I know this wasn't a sellout, but it is ridiculous for someone to walk halfway around the building, stand in line for 1/2 hour to get something to eat. One food stand per floor doesn't cut it. It is like the Verizon Center gave up on the fans.
My trip did yield some things to look forward to. Drinks is not longer there. It has been bought by Green Turtle and is being renovated. The Caps are starting to sell red, white, and blue merchandise again. Ovechkin T-shirts and things like that. No new logo yet.
In the end I was happy with the win. I was disappointed with my follows Caps fans and with the Verizon Center. The service the Verizon Center provided/did not provide could explain why most fans stayed home.

Headline..."Iran pissed at U.S."
Apparently the Iranian's have there ass hairs up over a movie. This movie, "300", is a Hollywood version of an historical event. The Iranians have stated that, "Hollywood declares war on Iran". Really. The truth of the matter is Iran doesn't like to be reminded of its history. They do not like to be reminded of how the attempted to force their culture on the "barbarians" of the west. Wait, this kinda sounds familiar. I think I heard this somewhere else....
The Iranians have been trying to pick a fight with the U.S. for a while. They just want us to swing first. This is just another attempt for Iran to get sympathy and build an alliance against the U.S. I read on one news site that the Iranians are saying historically, the events in the movie did not happen. Oh yeah, just like they have stated that Holocaust did not happen.
I am tired of the Iranians. They have stated there goal is to wipe out Israel and the West. They are pursuing a nuke and are the biggest sponsors of terrorism in the world. They have been trying to get the U.S. to focus solely on them. Be careful of what you wish for...
I have decided to salute the Iranians. As I sit here, I firmly place my giant red, white, and blue middle finger in the air. They should quit while they are ahead.

This is a Civil War observation that has it applications to today's war. This was in Civil War Times, Mar/Apr 2007. This is not a direct quote but a paraphrase. General Robert E. Lee was able to find military intelligence in reading Northern news papers. He was also able to get a feel for the politics of the North. He saw growing disillusionment with the war among Democrats and despair among Republicans. One of Lee's strategies in invading Maryland was to further demoralize the North and have a impact on the congressional elections of 1862. He believed that Confederate military success would help antiwar Democrats. He felt, if Democrats could gain control of the House of Reps., it would cripple the Lincoln administration's ability to carry on the war.
My words: It is interesting to see how history has repeated itself. Many of the same sentiments about the war that exist today existed then. President Lincoln replaced his top generals until he found the one that had the vision to end the war. That was General Grant. President Bush has done the same today with the war in Iraq. It is amazing to take the events of today, compare them with the events of the past and see how things are the same. Unlike what is reported in the media, it shows that the problems of today are not new. It shows that the plans of the enemy and thoughts of the enemy today are the same as the enemy of yesterday. It gives perspective.
